X3 reunion concussion impulse generator3/27/2023 ![]() ![]() If you're unlucky you can get bogged down and have to fight, even when the odds are against you - unless you use a turbo-booster or jumpdrive. Nova is sturdier and better-armed, but slower. Mamba will require hit-and-run tactics (a tight group of Ls and Ms may get through your shield even then), but can "in theory" take on any number of M3s and M4s (run, try to seperate into small groups, pick them off one by one), and can just run away if the going gets rough. ![]() If you're looking for a player fighter, I'd go either Nova (Prototype, if not available then Raider), or Mamba (Raider/Vanguard). Cargo bay is small, and class is S, so you won't be able to carry a jumpdrive. That is, however, assuming you were looking for a carrier-based fighter. Really good bang for your buck if you mass-produce PACs and 5MJ shields. More than 250m/s speed, 20MJ shields, normal M4 weaponary - not the best fighter, but priced like a scout, at less than 100k credits. Building factories for them is a good way to make them happy again, since the new stations will offer more missions.Originally posted by Goat:Also, what fighters would you reccomend to go agains the xenon L and M fighters? Tbh, I'd go for Paranid Enhanced Pericles (? The M4 anyway). The game doesn't show Pirate/Yaki reputation but it works the same way as the other races, if you are really friendly with them you can still fight them on combat patrols or station defence, as long as you do some missions for them afterwards to get back the lost reputation. The beacons are really useful for doing missions in Terran space (when I steal one of their ships and have to get back to rank 10) because they can be dropped near a station to cut down on the long travel times. ![]() The X3wiki has some good advice on training marines, there are some ships that can't be bought at shipyards and can only be acquired by boarding, like the Paranid Hyperion and Agamemnon, and the Terran Valhalla which only appears randomly in some war sectors.Īnother target is ships carrying Jump Beacons, which are rare but can be found by scanning Rapid Response Fleet ships or using the long range cargo scan script. At maximum reputation rank 10, capturing one capital ship will decrease reputation to 7-8, but stealing two would make you an enemy of the race, so I would attack once and then do missions to get back up to rank 10 to keep them happy. I don't like permanent enemies either, my hobby was staying friendly with all the races while stealing their ships. I am a non native speaker and try my best. I also apologize for my mistakes regarding the english language. I do not know if this post is against the rules of this subreddit, and if its like that I am really sorry and will delete is immediately. I know, that this whole thing is a bunch of soft expressions with little to no real question, but I just want to talk with you guys about the goals and challenges, the thoughts and decisions you made and how X3 AP became the game you put in a really big part of your free time. The Xenon are not really up to par with them regarding the element of surprise. In Reunion I had at least the Khaak for a second aim and they popped up everywhere. I thought about going hard on the terrans, but i still want to leave the door open to build up a terran economy and buy their ships and stations. I want to fight a real enemy, besides the Xenon (which are kind of though regaridng taking their ships i have heard), but at the same time I do not want to lose opportunities. I want to do more besides my longterm goal of controlling the Tier 1 and 2 Markets through complexes and buying CLS traders and securing the xenon threatend sectors with M2s and such beasts. I do not like to make enemys, but I invested something like 20 million creddits into my marines and do not know how to train or use them. My problem is: I am probably too friendly to everyone. Right now I am in the process of building up my economic empire and I am unsure about the position of my HQ, because I do not own a sector right now, but thats another story. Especially the HQ Plot is nothing but a point and click thing because my rank with the pirates is so good through my drug complexes. Right now I am heading thgrough the HQ and the Hub Plot with little to no effort. I love this subreddit and the people chatting here and while I play my way through X3 AP leaving my good old Reunion alone, i ask myself, what can bring additional flavor to my game. ![]()
